Abstract: The aim of this entry is to analyse the current usage of the codified version of the complex adjective ‘cyrilometodský’ (‘cyrilo-metodovský’) and its non-hyphenated form, written as ‘cyrilometodský’ (‘cyrilometodovský’) that was part of the previous codification. All of these phrases mean ‘Cyrillo-Methodian’ in English. In the entry we confront the viewpoints of two language researchers, M. Považaj (1997) a J. Jacko (1998) and add a chronological view of the changes in the codified written form of this complex adjective. The second part of the entry looks at the frequency, in which the differing forms of this adjective (‘cyrilo-metodský’, ‘cyrilometodovský’, ‘cyrilometodský’ a ‘cyrilometodovský’) occur in the text of the Slovak national corpus, all the while divides these occurrences based on the date of their creation into two group: untill the year 1997 (where the forms ‘cyrilometodský’ a ‘cyrilometodovský ’ were officially in use) and after the year 1998 (where the forms ‘cyrilo-metodský’ and ‘cyrilometodovský’ were officially codified).
